Before you get too excited, it isn’t my wedding… I took my friend and his fiancé (who does not appear to have any significant flaws which makes me wonder why she said “yes”) to Kualoa Ranch to figure out if it was a good venue. They have a variety of different sites and each is unique and interesting— it presents a different view and quite honestly each site is pretty striking. I’ve traveled much of the ranch either by truck (one of the benefits of working for the Hawaii Department of Agriculture) or by horse, but the makai (ocean side) sites were rather new to me. I loved it because it seemed to have been unchanged by time. It still had that old time feel which is one reason I always love working on a ranch. It’s just more profound at Kualoa because it’s in the middle of Oahu.
