Yup, another day, another fish taco. I actually had another set of fish tacos but that one was so unremarkable it wasn’t worth writing about. Feeling the need to get out of the convention area/Gas Lamp district, we headed, on the advice of a friend, north and drove to South Beach Bar. I was havig trouble with the GPS and man, California drivers are not very understanding. I wasn’t even driving slow! Still after having trouble with parking, we did find it. It was crowded and noisy. We had some fried baby octopus. Oddly enough we were surprised at how baby the octopus was and frankly, I kind of felt a bit bad about it. We also expected a battered and deep fried dish, not what we got which was very delish. The tacos weree good. I had one that was ono so I could compare it with my favorite place in Hawaii, South Shore Grinds. I also got a fried oyster taco. While good, the freshness of the taco at Escape and the home made tortilla pushed it over the edge.
