I was fortunate to be present at the opening of the Cardboard Cathedral. My friend Richard got me tickets to the opening concert. In typical New Zealand fashion the seats were tightly packed together. The cathedral is spectacular in it's own way, all though it is missing that special element that old churchs have. It's intended to be a temporary structure, but I cannot help but wonder how it will be viewed in 50 years time. The lights shining on the cross makes it shimmer in a way that a camera cannot quite capture the effect.
