The Art of the Sale

I went looking for a car as I needed to make some general wear and tear repairs to my car but it was going to cost me a fair amount. I was back in the market for a car, although I had concerns about costs. I wanted something my mom was comfortable in though. We wound up a Lexus dealer one day… Talk about high pressure sales. My dad was partially the target of the Korean sales man that had sold them their Lexus years ago. It was bizarre to hear someone try to sell my dad so he could sell me on a car because it was “so Gangnam”. Everything from the windows which would stop going up if you hand was in the way to the automatic brake holding system was gangnam. I am not sure my father knew what it meant. Gangnam style certainly isn’t me. And testing a car by going around in a big square doesn’t tell you anything.

Add to that an inability to realize that adjusting the loan period does not mean reducing cost of the car. I opted out of the gangnam car sales technique and instead went with someone who let the car sell itself. It didn’t hurt that my head gasket was leaking again. So I wound up with another new Subaru.
