Bushman's Centre- Possom Pie
We stopped in Kukekura today at a place called Bushman's Centre. The owner is an interesting man with interesting beliefs on possom's, an animal that few like in New Zealand. Pete makes possum pies for a $5 NZ donation. It's a donation because… it's a long story. The place is hilarious and filled with letters to the owner, responses to the letters, and slew of other interesting, fascinating things. So, what did possum taste like? It wasn't bad. It certainly wasn't as game-y as I thought it would be, but that might be good preparation. The closest I can think of is rabbit. I also like the giant black fly at the front. They had a way-cool duster I really wanted too.
